Giant Tiger’s headquarters at 2480 Walkley Road has been undergoing expansion recently. A new four-storey 173,800 SF office building, as well as a 31,000 SF connected flagship store, are currently underway replacing the former headquarters, store, and warehouse distribution centre. Alliance Engineering is the prime mechanical contractor installing all plumbing, HVAC and controls throughout the building and we wanted to share some project updates!
This multi-phase project is a modern four-storey building built to LEED specifications. The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification process addresses the entire building’s lifecycle and applies best-in-class building/construction strategies. The LEED process — including our plumbing, HVAC, and control installations throughout — helps to:
- Lower operating costs while increasing asset value
- Conserve energy, water, and other resources
- Offer a healthier and safer environment for occupants
- Qualify for money-saving incentives like tax rebates and zoning allowances
