Élisabeth Bruyère Hospital
The Élisabeth Bruyère Hospital is Ottawa’s first hospital and now offers stroke and geriatric rehabilitation services. It is the home of the country’s largest academic palliative care unit.
Project Type: Mechanical Construction
About This Project
The Élisabeth Bruyère Hospital was originally the Ottawa General Hospital when built. The hospital is one of three sites operated by Bruyère — an academic healthcare organization. Alliance worked with Trane to replace an air-cooled chiller at the facility. The machine helps cool water (or water-glycol mixture) and operates based on vapour compression, condensation, and evaporation. By absorbing heat from process water and then transferring this heat, the air-cooled chiller is used to provide consistent temperature and pressure.
